Carroll Park
I am always on the hunt for a unique design challenge. When I read a Call for Artists post on Pardon Me For Asking, the local blog that specializes in all things Carroll Gardens, I knew I was ready for a new adventure!
Friends of Carroll Park's initiative to revamp the bins in their historic park was something I never thought to be possible! My concept was to inject the history of Carroll Park - and it's corresponding subway stop right across the street - by creating a trompe l'oeil effect on the mosaic subway tiles. A customized psd mapped out the letters, then a decoupage layer and finally painting each and every tile by hand. After 40 hours of work, I'm thrilled with the outcome!
